New £1bn trains signal bigger plans ahead for TransPennine rail network

A £1 billion order for 29 new battery-electric trains has been announced for the TransPennine Express network, with Hull and East Yorkshire's mayor hailing the region's inclusion in the investment.

Transpennine Route Upgrade opens £270,000 Community Fund for third year running

Community groups, schools and charities within five kilometres of the Transpennine rail route can apply for a share of £270,000 when the third round of the TRU Community Fund opens on Monday 28 September.
