Reader is a glossy magazine designed to be read, the kind of thing you actually sit down with, rather than skim and bin. We’re here to serve Roundhay, Oakwood, Chapel Allerton, Moortown, Gledhow, Alwoodley and Shadwell, as well as Leeds and Yorkshire, but we know we also have lots of readers around the world who have a soft spot for Yorkshire (understandable, right?).
We feature local news you might have missed, a run of regulars we’re genuinely fond of, and enough smiles and penny-drop moments throughout that mean reading it never feels like homework.
We started it here because we love it here and we wanted a magazine that felt like it belonged to our part of the world, rather than one that had simply been dropped on it. We also have digital editions for Leeds and the wider county too, and the website you’re reading right now, but the spirit stays the same wherever you’re spending time with us: warm, sharp, and easy-going.
What’s in every issue:
- Local stories, told with care, by people who actually live round here.
- A set of regulars readers come back for — quizzes, columns, and small traditions that build up over time.
- Writing with a bit of personality in it. We all like a laugh, don’t we?
- A magazine that respects your time and your intelligence, and never pads a page just to fill it.
Come and have a read. We think you’ll like it.
