Wrestling will once again take over Bradford’s Darley Street Market on Saturday 8 August.
This time, the third regular Courtyard Clash is expanding to three one-hour sessions, at 12:30pm, 2:30pm and 5pm, taking place as part of the first ‘Bantams in the Courtyard’ FanZone of the season. Visitors attending the first home game of the season can enjoy the wrestling both before and after the match.
The event promises an afternoon of wrestling from Kingdom Wrestling, who will be showcasing their wrestlers in a special ring built in the Courtyard. Spectators are encouraged to come along and watch the matches to discover who will be crowned champion.
Kingdom Wrestling provide Live Pro Wrestling events to churches and organisations across the UK. They also operate a number of Pro Wrestling Training Academies and plant ‘Wrestling Churches’.
All three floors of Darley Street Market will also be open, with a mixture of retail, fresh food and the Street Kitchen. There will be live music in the Courtyard between the first two wrestling shows from drumming group Kirkgate Bateria!, as well as live music in the Darley Street Kitchen at 5pm with Charlie Hansen.
Investing in Bradford
Councillor Ian Walker, Bradford Council’s executive member for neighbourhoods and communities, said: “The wrestling showcases in Darley Street Market have been amazing and are really popular so we’re delighted to be welcoming them back again.”
Gaz ‘Angel’ Thompson, CEO and founder of Kingdom Wrestling, said: “Kingdom Wrestling is all about investing in Bradford and the awesome talent we have here. All of our wrestlers are local, and they all want to impress. But they will have to get past me, and that isn’t gonna be easy!”
Ethan, a wrestling trainee, said: “It’s always fun to perform in front of an audience, it’s even better when it’s your home area! I’m ready to put on a show and walk out of the courtyard with the win.”
The event begins at 12:30pm on Saturday 8 August. It’s free to attend, and no booking is required.
