Kitchen whizz Rosalind Waugh has turned her talents to the joys of sourdough and sauerkraut, with a new masterclass in the training kitchen at Middlesbrough’s Live Well Centre.
The master baker and jam maker welcomed five students to her Sourdough & Sauerkraut session — the first of its kind in the area.
Co-host Emma Donoghue, of the Hummersea Bakehouse, led the group in producing their own loaves. Waugh then showed the students the art of fermenting, with the group going on to make their own sauerkraut.
Waugh’s kitchen skills have earned her an array of Great Taste awards, Great British Food Awards and Deliciously Yorkshire awards.
She said: “It was hard work, but a brilliant day which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. The facilities at the Live Well Centre are amazing, and I’m delighted to be able to pass on skills that will stand people in good stead for years to come.”
