A super-sized tribute to Sir Kevin Sinfield has been unveiled at Trinity Leeds as Yorkshire Day celebrations kick off at the shopping centre on 30 July. The eye-catching image of the Leeds Rhinos legend, recently awarded a long-awaited knighthood, has gone on display under the main atrium in support of his next fundraising challenge.
Sinfield has raised a staggering £11 million for Motor Neurone Disease charities in honour of his close friend and former teammate Rob Burrow, who died from MND in 2024. In September he’ll take on his final fundraising challenge, “7 in 7: The Grand Finale” — running an ultra-marathon every day for a week, visiting all 12 English Super League grounds on the way to a finish at Old Trafford ahead of the Betfred Super League Grand Final.
As part of the Yorkshire Day celebrations, a “wall of support” between M&S and ROX will let fans leave their own messages of encouragement on rugby shirt-themed cards, running from 9am to 5pm on 1 August.
Sir Kevin Sinfield said: “It’s a real honour for me and the charities to be a focus of Yorkshire Day at Trinity Leeds this year and to be playing my part in celebrating a city and a county which has been such a massive part of my life both on and off the pitch. Leeds and Yorkshire will always be incredibly special places for me, where the people have shown me amazing support through the years and where I’ve experienced so many moments that I’ll never forget. It’ll mean so much to once again have the backing of the people of Leeds as I set off on this latest challenge and to know they’re cheering me on all the way.”

Money raised will go to the Motor Neurone Disease Association, the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association, My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, MND Scotland, Leeds Hospitals Charity and The Darby Rimmer MND Foundation.
