A free digital mental wellbeing programme is now available for 16 to 19-year-olds in Leeds, funded by the NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board and delivered by Northpoint.
SilverCloud is an online, CBT-based programme offering evidence-based digital mental health support, weekly chat-based contact with an online supporter through the first eight sessions, and access to programme resources for 12 months afterwards.
It’s open to 16 to 19-year-olds with a Leeds GP, and to their parents or carers, and is aimed at those with mild to moderate anxiety or low mood, or who want support living with autism or ADHD. Separate programmes are available for young people and for parents supporting an anxious or autistic teenager.
SilverCloud is not suitable for anyone at high risk of self-harm, experiencing suicidal thoughts, or currently in a mental health crisis, since supporters review accounts only once a week and the service isn’t designed to provide crisis support.
Young people and parents can self-refer online, or be referred by a professional via silvercloud16-19@northpoint.org.uk.
