West Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a car was stolen with a two-year-old child inside in Lofthouse and driven at speed through Carlton, Rothwell and Woodlesford.
The car, a grey Volvo XC90 on a ’58’ plate, was taken just before 8.30pm on Wednesday 5 August from Long Thorpe Lane. The child was found safe and well.
Police say the Volvo was travelling at excessive speed as it passed through Carlton, Rothwell and Woodlesford, via Holmsley Lane, before arriving at Woodlesford Lock at around 8.37pm, where it was later found. It is believed to have been travelling in convoy with a blue Citroën Berlingo.
Anyone who saw the Volvo on that route, or who has dashcam or doorbell footage of either vehicle, is asked to contact Leeds CID via the West Yorkshire Police Live Chat service, quoting crime reference 13260446258. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111 or online.
